Australia Day

A day of events for us as a family.

"40 years ago today Sgt Pepper taught the band to play" ; but I digress. It was hot. There was a major.  petrol strike and my Dear Doctor spent the day delivering 7 babies. The 3 boys born all had James in their names in honor of James Cook who discovered Australia. My dear daughter Heather was born last but so worth waiting for. Today she officially turns 40. See previous post for celebration.

Moving right along in the history of the family 10 years or ago so my son-in -law Gene who's Birthday is tomorrow  became an Australian citizen. Like the rest of us he holds dual citizenship as a Kiwi with the country of his birth New Zealand. Go All Blacks!!

Oh for those who don't know it's the holiday and marks the last of summer. Back to school next week.

My Australia Day Aussie Hero's laundry bag for 2013. Go to my side bar tonight and check out all the amazing Australian themed laundry bags for deployed service personal. It was a challenge and so far there are over 60 entries.

Quilters know how to celebrate*!*!  giving.

Have a wonderful day everyone.  Terry

P.S. just checked it's 20 years ago today Sgt. Pepper taught the Band to Play. My memory is altered by a good line and I'm keeping it in the post.

waiting

time for dinner

We cooked hot dogs on a stick and marshmallows for dinner. All fun slept in a tent  and returned to fish at 6:am the next morning. I was so busy enjoying the family I forgot to take pictures. Guess they are in my head.

we also saw lots of kangaroos. At dusk and early in the morning. Cadel counted 70 Skippys in the meadow and I'm sure he was right.

There wasn't much stitching but lots of great times. The house is quiet for now.

Hope you all had a good weekend  Terry
