Three weeks ago my dodgie left knee was replaced with a wiz bang state
of the art new knee. My progress so far has been beyond expectation. All through the journey my own handspun yarn has given me a quiet task to focus on. Knit a row and then another watching what will be a wrap grow. Somedays the diverson of simple garter stitch in random colors was a joyful refuge.  Hooray Hooray .... it is almost the length of a knee rug so I am enjoying the snuggley goodness of a hand made burst of color.

The beautiful roses lasted and lasted another simple gift of beauty.

Lots of knitting to in between a bit of rehap to strengthen me so I get too good friends with my new left knee.

A Little Quilt

I've been pulling colourful scraps for a modern baby quilt.

 

25 Nine Patch blocks with the same center were cut in to

Lots of smaller blocks

100 smaller blocks ready to be layed out.

The top was assembled and simple diagonal quilting.

The pattern was quick to work with and produced great visual results. I enjoyed the straightforward stitchig and the bright quilt.

My grand children still use their "blankies" for movie nights and just Snuggling.  It always makes me happy to share.

Everything Turns

All the gadgets in the wool making process twirl and whirl with lots of help

 

I enjoyed having such wonderful help and grandson time. 

Look at that swift go.

The swift whirls while the wool winder turns makeing lovely yarn buns....." look hash tags" .  The language of my grand children's world.

Following all the laughter and fun of assembling and disassembling the windy things some serious trials were conducted.
And the results are in. ?.... the small square is the correct gauge for the pattern I want to knit. The colour in this photo is accurate but I'm not expecting such obvious stripes in the drappy vest. The vest is knitted sidways over 185 sts. The swatch is only 27 sts.
My best guess is it will be a more blended look.
